BOWTIES & BLING GENERATES $130K FOR SAINT JAMES CATHOLIC SCHOOL
Saint James Catholic School hosted the 11th annual Black & White Knight event on Saturday, February 4. Transforming a sterile gym into a beautiful event venue adorned with colorful cocktails, flower arrangements, elegant draping, a dance floor, and a stage, the volunteer committee continues to astound event-goers with attention to detail and a fun, entertaining event. Included in the evening were a raffle drawing, silent and live auction, dinner, and drinks followed by dancing. With nearly 500 in attendance and 45 event sponsors – Legato Financial as Title Sponsor, the annual gala raised $130,000 to support the students, faculty, and staff at Saint James Catholic School.

For the second year, the school presented the Distinguished Alumni Award during the event, honoring Deacon Bill Clark for his years of service to Saint James and his service to the Elizabethtown/Hardin County community. Bill has been a lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church and has practiced his faith in his home parish for 75 years. He was ordained to the Diaconate of the Archdiocese of Louisville in 1996 and has served as a Deacon for twenty-seven years. He and his wife, Nicki, have enshrined a love of Catholic education in his children and grandchildren.
“Our school community is grateful to the volunteer committee and our entire Elizabethtown community for coming together to support this event,” said Jennifer Moran, Director of Mission Advancement. “With costs continuing to rise in all industries, our school depends on individuals and corporations to help us maintain a balanced budget.”
