Dining in Wonderland

THERE ARE ALWAYS FLOWERS FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SEE THEM.

– HENRI MATISSE

“FINE in Wonderland” might best describe this table feature from our friends at the local decor & custom furnishings shop, an assemblage of inspiration for entertaining as the weather again trends warmer and we all venture out from a few months of hibernation.

Their usual layers of texture are on display, plus conversation pieces to keep things fun and interesting (magnifying glasses and more than a few mushroom motifs, for starters).

Much like the natural whimsy of the garden world that gives this spread its theme, the tablescape is built from the ground up: start at the lowest level and you’ll find a paper table runner and deep green woven placemats, followed by a wooden charger, decorative greens, and blooming linens. The multicolor blown glass candleholders reach upward, as do the serving pieces of various composition scattered throughout.

For inspiration and to explore the pieces featured, visit FINE House & Garden at their Elizabethtown shop.
