GOING VIRTUAL: Tails & Ta-Tas Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk

Presented by Atria of Elizabethtown, the Tails & Ta-Tas is a Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk takes place in Elizabethtown every year on the second Saturday of October. This year is no exception: The event is going virtual October 10, 2020, but you will have through the 16th to complete your 5K. The virtual event is raising funds for the Hardin Memorial Health Foundation Cancer Care Center. Grab your dog costumes and running shoes and get signed up now. It's only $25. You'll need a group of friends to make this memorable. You can register here. This year the event will kick off online on their Facebook page on the morning of Saturday, October 10, Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Activities include:

  • Yoga Warm-Up by Karma Yoga Studio at 8:00 on Saturday, October 10. The link will be live all week.

  • Dog Costume Contest - Post your photos of costume-wearing pups all week long October 10-16 for a chance to win prizes for Best Costume, Cutest Dog and Owner Dog Look Alike. You can post to Facebook or Instagram, be sure to tag Tails & Tatas 5K. Each winner will receive a basket of goodies from Feeder's Supply.

  • Breast Cancer Walk / Run: You can walk / run anywhere. Walkers and runners must register to participate. REGISTER HERE. You have from October 10-16 to complete the walk / run. Post your photos and tag Tails & Tatas Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk for the opportunity to win giveaway prizes in drawings on October 17.

  • Swag bags will be available for all registered walkers / runners. Pick up locations will be announced on the Tails & Tatas Facebook Page. FOLLOW THEM!

  • Giveaways for completed walk / run contestants: Drawings will take place on October 17. Photos must be post by 5:00pm October 16.

  • Wig Stand-Palooza Facebook Auction October 10-16. These wig stands are perfect for Derby hats and wigs alike. Stay tuned for the link to the online auction.


The virtual event funds support for the Hardin Memorial Health Foundation Cancer Care Center located on Robinbrooke Boulevard in Elizabethtown. While this is a breast cancer event, the Foundation Cancer Care Center benefits all cancer patients. The money raised has gone towards the cancer Resource Center itself through renovations and furniture, wigs for cancer patients, wig stands, programming for cancer patients and survivors, gas cards, cooling caps and other materials for cancer patients and survivors. The facility is supported by the community and resources are free to members of the community who are battling cancer.
