The Coolest Thing For Kids in ETown This Coming Week

Updated: Oct 17, 2019

The first day of school is fast approaching! If you are looking for some last-minute fun before the kids head back to class, look no further. Actually click this link! The coolest thing happening this week is a three day workshop hosted by artist Courtney Ballard at her downtown studio, HIP South.

Who knew Elizabethtown had art classes? I had the pleasure of visiting the last HIP South workshop on abstract paintings and it looked so fun. Students hung out, mixed paints and created their own beautiful works of art. Talk about a parent having something to proudly display. This isn't your every day finger painting folks. I loved checking out each piece and what each child/teenager chose for their painting.

The next workshop is taking place THIS WEEK just in time for some final-days-of-summer fun. It is an Illustrated Initial Workshop and will cover hand lettering and hand drawn illustrations. Each kid will make a work of art with their own initial. A few spaces are still available and you can sign up here. The workshop will last three days, Tuesday, July 23 through Thursday, July 25 from 10:00am to noon each day for $95. All supplies are provided by HIP South with instruction by Courtney Ballard herself.

"One of my favorite subjects... LETTERS! Learn about hand lettering and hand drawn illustrations. M is for masterpiece, folks." ⎯ Courtney Ballard, HIP South

Thank you so much for tuning in! If you have any additional questions on workshops offered at HIP South, contact Courtney Ballard via social media. Keep up-to-date on the HIP South happenings by following their pages on Facebook and Instagram. As always, we are so grateful to have you here at Elizabethtown Lifestyle! Stay tuned for more posts on local businesses and events.
